When BvS Education was invited by the Behr family to attend Antonius’ Confirmation at Ampleforth College, Alice didn’t hesitate for a second. It was the perfect opportunity to see how their pupil was faring and to (finally!) meet the Headmaster everyone’s talking about, David Lambon, the first non-clerical Headmaster in Ampleforth’s history. Originally from Northern Ireland, David Lambon is credited for academically rejuvenating St. Malachy’s in Belfast and he has many great things planned for Ampleforth as well. The weather in Yorkshire was kind and the sun shone on the Abbey in its stunning setting amidst rolling hills and endless  playing  fields. The brand new theatre had just been opened 2 weeks earlier and already was buzzing with Grade 8 piano practice and revision for the upcoming exam. Exciting news for BvS Education’s German families is that Ampleforth will be offering a one year GCSE course which will allow German pupils to be at Ampleforth during Fifth Form, or 10. Klasse as its known in Germany, the traditional time for pupils to spend a school year in the UK.
